This is what some of our members have to say about Special Kids in the UK
"Special Kids has been a lifeline for me at times. The support and help from other members has been terrific and it's kept me going when I've been depressed and not known where to turn. Just knowing that people understand when I have a problem and don't know where to turn makes a huge difference to me and my family. Sometimes on a bad day I just need to get things off my chest and I know that here I can do that without judgement. At times I've felt frustrated and alone but I can log on and I am surrounded by people who care and the helplessness and loneliness vanish. In more practical terms it's helped me no end in getting my daughter's education in the future sorted out. The other parents gave me the confidence and knowledge to push for what my daughter needed" Carla, Cumbria
"I am so grateful for all the advice and support we have been given. I can talk about my daughter knowing that everyone in the forum understands where I am coming from, which is a great help as I find alot of my friends and family can't even begin to understand what we have been through and what we are still going through. If I am having a bad day I can offload and get lots of advice, cyber hugs and words of comfort to help me keep positive." Ali, Cheshire
"Special Kids in the UK is a great place to be! No matter what - moans, questions, stress, hassles, excitement and achievements there is always somebody there for you. Always somebody who has been there, done that and can sympathise or advise. Always somebody to give hugs, love and prayers when needed. It is wonderful to be able to share with other parents who understand and appreciate just how hard life can be with a special needs child." Sandra, West Sussex
"Special kids is there to share the joys, successes, sorrows and failures, they understand my frustrations and my fears, a place where I can come and offload without fear of judgement, where I can make a mistake, say sorry and it is gone. Somewhere where I have friends I have never met, where I made friends I later met and where I have friends that will last!" Tina, Isle of Wight
"Special Kids parents are my band of unseen friends and sanity keepers, can't see them but would be lost without them!" Pauline, Surrey
"Special Kids is part of my daily routine . It's been a life saver for me to be able to talk to such a wonderful bunch of people about the good and the bad times and to be able to provide help for others and share the good times too. I feel we are now one big family and it's great! " Jo, Derbyshire
"Special kids has been a godsend to me, thank you so much for being you, for becoming what I class as my bunch of best friends. For always being there for me, making life seem less alone." Sara, West Midlands
"One of the great things about Special Kids is that our members have a HUGE range of first hand experience of the kind of things you definitely won't find in any baby- or parenting magazine. Another great thing is that the website is always there so you can log on when it suits you, even if it is 3 am in the morning!" Lynne, Denmark
"I have only been a member of Special Kids in the UK for a few short weeks and I would like to pay tribute to the fabulous site we all enjoy here. I was made welcome here very quickly, the folks here, mainly mums, (come on you dads, where are ya?) are universally friendly, loopy, supportive and have a truly outstanding and encyclopaedic knowledge of all things SEN. And such a group of wonderful children and siblings too." Fiona
"My son has a paediatrician, community paediatrician, neurologist, ketogenic diet consultant, audiology consultant, two occupational therapists (home and school), speech and language therapist, continence nurse, educational psychologist, behavioural therapist, special needs co-ordinator, learning support assistant etc.I have Special kids in the UK to help keep me sane, share my worries, ask for advice, sound off or compliment any of the afore mentioned, and just be there for me!"
